Sorry for no new drawings or any recent activity lately, I've been real worried and, thought days have been becoming hotter and awakening my will to draw lately, very burnout-y and busy trying to focus on real life issues across my family and myself, including trying to find a way to balance between fun and work.

Lately I've been feeling unmotivated because one of my grandparents has fallen extremely ill with pneumonia at 81 and the doctors are trying their best to cure him. Right now he has lost weight beyond belief, he was a fat old man. He also lacked a kidney and had many problems like hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol. He is with big chance of death, yet we cling to God that he survives to see my brother marry.

I can't imagine such thing to happen, even though I pray that it DOESN'T happen, even in a slim chance. I know he would be really weak, needing to walk again though physiotherapy, but at least it would be a miracle for him to be with me for a couple of years, as a family we are.

He is the reason I started playing games on a computer, and the reason I got introduced to the World Wide Web.

Flash games, Youtube videos and animations, Newgrounds, cheat codes for San Andreas, Windows XP, PowerPoint presentations, shitty shady games I'd download from ads that I'd enjoy as a kid like The Rise of Atlantis, Mario Forever and the like, MS Paint and PC gaming as a whole.

He is a part of my childhood that I cannot never take it off. Him dying would be sending my depression into a downward spiral, making me crying inside since I just can't physically cry, no matter how much I try in the right times. I have ASD thanking for fucking with my whole life for that...

I need time to see what happens and, if it eventually does, a brief period of reflection and time away from posting, just doodling in my notebook.

Hello everyone of the interwebs!!

This is basically copy paste of the Collabinator, but since it didn't gain any traction, I'm posting it here for anyone and everyone to know. Hope everyone doesn't mind. :p

Looking for musicians, sound designers for bootons soundy and VAs for characters, yo!

I'm TheAsterDood, a small-time artist and animator known for such hits such as "The Strange Dream" and "The bros in the room at 4AM", who recently did some assets with @53xy83457 for a game, my first game to be exact, and everything is looking swell as of right now! The artstyle is updated, there's some cool swaggy new animations, cutscenes, big promises, and all made in the venerable Adobe Flash! It's called "Ricardo Goes to War!"

We are currently looking for some musicians, sound designers and voice actors to do some music for the stages, misc sounds like the press of buttons or being close to death, background sounds, and of course, voices for the characters Maxson, a black, strong and determined sergeant of the Royal Aster Resistance Armed Forces, Daryl B. Trouble, a Mexican-Luso-American who has a knack for guns and is Ricardo's best friend, and finally, Ryleigh Meyers, his girlfriend who during the events of my series AsterReigN (under development right now) fights alongside Ricardo and Daryl in missions across the world to defeat Odracir the Dark.

So with that, be sure to PM me later or say in here first if you wish to apply for it in order to receive more info on the music of the stages, voice aspects of the characters, sound effects, etc.

You must be 18, prefererably 21 or over for the available positions, be it VA, music or sound design. Reason being that the game contains profane language reminescent of edgy 90s games and will have one little sexual nudge towards the end of it. No minors are welcome for this project.

Heya people of the interwebz! Ricardo here with some news for ya.

I have a Discord Server naw!

So for the past days I've been brewing up something special. Since I've still to figure out how to code an entire website, I've decided to make my own Discord server with some similarities to the Newgrounds BBS pre-General closure! How cool is that? You can join by clicking the link in the link listed in my profile that will invite you to the server.

However I recommend to keep this server as low in people using it as possible for now since I don't have the time now to fully manage a server, especially since I'm going to enter a course of music and programming at a local association to further become integrated in society, which, by talking with the teachers and people around campus, will lead me to get a job in an animation studio which I always dreamed of having. So as you see, I'm gonna be very busy having music and programming lessons to becoming a polyvalent, further giving me a reason to make a website, make my music here on Newgrounds and make professional animation and art too to post here, hence why I'll need to lay a bit off sometimes.

But I digress, next point is...

Need moderators for teh server!1!

Since I kickstarted my server now, I can't take care of the trolls and illegal bad people all by myself, which means I'll need some people to work for me to keep the server clean and shiny in reputation, which is why I need YOU guys to volunteer as mods to keep an eye out for intruders. If you guys or gals are willing to work for me as friends to keep an eye out for trolls and other undesirable people in my server, contact me in there and I'll level you up, just be sure to confirm to be willing to be fair and nice, to always follow the rules and never to be weird around people in the server. If you meet the requirements, then you are good to go!

Quick announcement for all Newgrounders to see, I have published a new animation, called "The Strange Dream"!

It's a Flash animation I made as a passion project since March 2023, originally made for Flash Forward but didn't make the cut for feeling it would be too rushed.

It truly encapsulates Newgrounds' Flash animations from back in the 2000s, so I think many old NGers and new NGers alike with like it.

Where have U been gone to?

So, besides me making my 21st birthday and having an emorional submission here on Newgrounds, you might be wondering "Ricardo, where have you been? You haven't posted much drawings for a while! Is something wrong?"

I'm glad you ask, little Tankjimmy! I'm just fine! The reason I haven't been posting much is that I've been changing stuff around where I live. We bought a vacation house 2 hours away from Lisbon to rest every now and then. We've been cleaning things up and moving things there to tiddy up our main apartment here in the big city since it has become a bit overcrowded. The house is really big, like really, REALLY big, but my wifi is really shitty since it's a town far away from civilization, almost close to Spain, so I couldn't make any uploads unfortunately. Other than that, everything's gone smoothly. My mental health is slowly regaining itself, I finally have an accoustic guitar (that needs some fixing), and I have more wisdom and knowledge on Adobe Flash CS6. Oh! Which leads to the next point!

Progress on the animation

After many months floundering and just drawing instead of doing my main goal, I decided to break the mold and once again return to making my passion project, "The Strange Dream". It's a Flash animation a la 2000s based around the AsterReicH universe that I've been working since March 2023, but have been delaying time and time again. I am not good at making deadlines, but I'm good at making teasers! I advanced a lot in my skills with the use of symbols, so now I have some sneaky-peakys to show ya. ;)

The project is around 89/94% complete, there is still some parts to clean up, some sounds to add to spice up the animation, maybe some additions to certain scenes to not look rough since some parts still use my old artstyle and the credits and bloopers. Also I will be adding a replay screen so you can still watch it whenever you feel like it, just to give that old Flash era feel to it. ;)

Closing thots!

So, here comes the closing thots! So, closing thots... I feel great! A good month thus far! The animation is going pretty great, grandma's over and is content with my content and being with me, I still am talking a lot with my bff @KhaosKitsune417, (Though I think we need to work on when we should talk since I wanna sometimes walk outside or talke a shower and eat. Don't worry, bestie, I still like u lotz, it's just time zones and my family's convenience, I'm sry! >,n,<) and overall my sanity and overall health is mucho bueno! Once I am done with polishing the animation and checking everything, I'll rst for a while on drawings and stuff, then out of nowhere I'll return like Don Sebastian I of Portugal in a foggy morning, but fr and not fake.

I'll see you guys on the animation's premiere! Sya! :)

Hello, people of Newgrounds and the interwebz!! Welcome to another update from your dood Ricardo to explain some new shit!!

My time in Canada

So, my time in Canada, how was it? I'd say myself that I had a pretty fun time!

Instead of spending all day on the PC, I instead went through many places. I went to the Tower, made an hour and half trip to the Niagara Falls, took some photos in Dundas Square at night and overall spent time with my dear father, since he lives there right now, atleast ever since my mom's divorce, but I don't wanna dwelve too much into that.

I also ate... like, a lot, even if it was in majority healthy food. I gained a total of 3 kilos total (I don't rly know the Imperial system, sorry US bros), luckily I am now on a diet and have been exercising again ever since I put my foot on the New World. It was a worthy good time to be with my dad and gramps. Sad that I didn't see @ninjamuffin99 in time since he was in Philly working for the beep boop game. Also sad that I can't be in Toronto for the NG meetup. Oh well, some other time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Update on things and other fat depressing stuff

Now for other matters, sorry if I've not posted any drawings for a while, my sleep schedule has been recently fucked cuz of the time zones, and for that combined with some of the junk food and lack of exercise left me a bit depressed and gloomy again. I'll get to it in time, but for now I'll do some warmup and conceptual doodles on my newly purchased hardcover notebook. I'll also get to work on the animation again soon, but only after I get better from all my depresso shit from these situations.

Closing thoughts

Closing thots? I really liked my stay in Canada, but at the same time I feel like dung from all my diet changes while abroad and because of my still recuring depression. I'll try to get better, but please go easy on me and wait for a while 'till I post something new. Maybe it will be pretty swell and swagy c00l! :)
